Sink; and father-in-law, Buddy Vines. He was the owner of Ray Sink Pipeline Inc., had obtained his private pilot's license, and was an avid sports fan supporting the Yankees, Cowboys, and the Hokies. He was a life member of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department where he served as captain and assistant chief. 1058 Phyllis Jean Self Kisner, 83, of Core, WV died Thursday, July 19, 2012 in the Tygart Center in Fairmont, WV.

She was born February 18, 1929 at Calvin, WV, a daughter of the late William "Bill" Lawson and Ada W. Hickman Lawson.

Mrs. Kisner was a retired LPN having retired from Monongalia General Hospital. After her retirement from the hospital she worked for REM West Virginia for a number of years.

Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Steven Self and his wife Tammy of Jakes Run, and Phillip Wayne Self; two daughters and their husbands, Pamela K. Eddy and her husband Ronald of Core, and Karen Ball; one brother, William Wayne Lawson; two sisters, JoAnn Fredrick and Billie Brush; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Stevie Self.

At the request of the deceased her body will be cremated and their will not be any services.

1059 Phyllis June Morgan, 84, died peacefully at Hubbard Hospice House on January 13, 2019.
Phyllis was born January 27, 1934 in Webster Springs, WV to Kenneth and Opal Nichols. She attended the University of Charleston and graduated with a degree in accounting. Phyllis worked for a prominent accounting firm in Charleston until she retired to take care of her beloved mother.
Phyllis was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church on Charleston's West Side.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Hillard Cochran (Kathy), David Cochran (Melody), Mike Cochran (Judy), Pat Cochran (Vicki), her brothers, Bill and Kenny Nichols, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchildren.
Her parents, Kenny and Opal Nichols and her grandson Chase Cochran preceded her in death.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM. Private family bruial will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs, WV.

Phyllis Ruth Schwisow, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 of natural causes. Phyllis was born on January 2, 1929 as an only child to Phillip J. and Ruth M. Turck at Moore MT. She moved to McMinnville, OR with her family where she graduated from high school in 1947 and married Roy Hougham later that year. Together they had three children, Mike, Wayne and Kent. She married Herb Risner in 1962 in Marysville, CA and had another son, Garland in 1964 and they moved to Idaho to the home on Chinden later that same year. In 1970 Phyllis attended Links School of Business and began a professional career. She worked for KBOI for several years and had been employed by the Idaho Department of Employment when she retired. She married Gordon Clever in 1977 and they joined families until his passing in 1985. She married Ed Schwisow in 1989 and they enjoyed a joint retirement and traveling until his passing in 1996. She moved from Chinden to the La Playa "Over 55" community in 1998 where she enjoyed living until moving to the Valley View Retirement Center in 2014. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Ruth Turck, previous husbands, Gordon Clever, Ed Schwisow, and son Wayne Hougham. She is survived by her Sons, Michael Garner (Pat), Kent Hougham, and Garland (Sue) Risner, chosen family Duane (Darlene) Schwisow, Joann (Don) Bow, Connie (Bruce) Freckleton and Sherry Johnson. She had extended family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren both biological and by marriage all of whom will miss her feisty personality.
Services will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian, Idaho. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. 1061 PIQUA - Dorothy A. Purk, age 88, of Piqua, OH, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 7:43 p.m. at Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana, OH. She was born in Champaign County, OH, on August 16, 1926, to the late Albert Laurel and Margaret (Locker) Bodey. On March 13, 1948, in St. Paris, OH, she married Paul E. Purk. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1981.

Dorothy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William and Keri Purk, Urbana, OH; two grandchildren, Ali Purk and Caitlin Purk both of Urbana, OH; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Bodey, Urbana, OH, and Ruth Bryan, Piqua, OH; three brothers-in-law, Don Swartz, Pleasant Hill, OH, Richard (Marilyn) Purk, Sebring, FL; a special niece, Pat Smith, Piqua, OH; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Dorothy attended Madison Avenue Church of God, Piqua. She also attended Springcreek Baptist Church, Piqua, OH. Dorothy was a member of Orange Township Homemakers of Shelby Co., OH, and High Point String Players of Bellefontaine, OH. She was a former member of the musical groups Easy Country and High Country. Dorothy was also an active volunteer for the Lockington Fire Department, Lockington, OH, for many years. She was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress. Dorothy also taught rug making, quilting and made 487 sets of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua, with Rev. Nancy Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher. Friends may call Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial service in memory of Dorothy will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana, OH.

1062 PIQUA -- Mary Catherine Boyd, 75, of Piqua and formerly of St. Paris, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
She was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Miami County, the daughter of the late Daniel and Etta Ellen "Alberta" (Hesselgesser) Beck.
She married Albert Boyd on Jan. 29, 1949, and he preceded her in death May 14, 2005.
She is survived by her six children, Cynthia A. Boyd, Robert N. and Evelyn Boyd, Sheila Boyd and Anita and Carl Lundford, all of Piqua, Rhoda J. and Ronald J. Boyd of Christiansburg and Shirley and Harold Perry of Troy; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three brothers, James and Richard (Carlinda) Beck, both of Springfield and Ronald and Shelley Beck of Troy; six sisters, Thelma Schroth of Troy, Viola Harvey of New Carlisle, Barbara Stapleton of St. Paris, Ellen and Steve Cardoza of Enon, Linda Parthemore of Sidney and Joan Maddy of St. Paris.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Roger; and brothers-in law, Melvin Harvey, Milfred Maddy and Raymond Schroth.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of North Hampton High School and a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses of New Carlisle. She was a homemaker who loved reading her Bible and she was fond of red barns.

Ray Bodey, 81, Rt 2 a retired farmer, died at midnight Friday at his home. He had been ill two months.
A native of Johnson Township, he was born Jun 7, 1886 a son of Valentine and Rosa Ward Bodey. His marriage to Mirtie Smith took place in July of 1912.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Thurman of St Paris, Richard of Rt 2, a daughter Mrs Phyllis Nicholas Rt 1; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery.

1064 PIQUA — Nancy Jean Moore age 73, of Piqua, OH passed away at 9:50 a.m. on April 26, 2019 in Troy, Ohio.

Born on June 22, 1945 in Piqua, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Hetzler) Bodey.

She married John Moore of Piqua on July 16, 1966 and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

She is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny "JJ" and Barb Moore, a grandson Collin Mackenzie Moore of Piqua, sisters, Joan (Clarence) Neth of Piqua and Linda Heber of Sidney and a brother Joe (Betty) Bodey of Piqua.

Nancy was a 1963 graduate of Sidney High School and retired from Copeland after 39 years. She was a member of the Springcreek Baptist Church and Amvets #66 of Covington.

She loved mushroom hunting and fishing with her husband and crocheting.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Fletcher, Ohio with Gary Burns presiding. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday prior to the funeral services in the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m.

1065 PIQUA — Sheryl S. Bodey, 68 of Piqua, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday March 31, 2020 at Koester Pavilion.

She was born August 8, 1951 in Piqua to the late Harry R. and Kathryn E. (Cunningham) Bodey.

Survivors include a brother, Jerry L. Bodey of Piqua; two nieces, Jennifer (Zack) Randall, and Elizabeth (Sean) Hall; a great niece and nephew; and a long time friend Kathryn Harris.

Miss Bodey was a 1969 graduate of Piqua Central High School, attended Edison State College, Wright State University and the University of Dayton having earned her Masters degree in 1989. She worked at WalMart. She was very active with the Piqua Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #320 and Amaranth Chapter.

Private funeral services are being provided to her family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.

Lois Evelyn Walker, 70, was active 4-H'er in youth here

Lois Evelyn Walker, 70, of Columbus died Friday, March 30, 2007, at 10 a.m. at her home.

Mrs. Walker was a graduate of Hayden High School and had worked at McDonald's, Jack & Jill Preschool as an aide, Cummins Engine Company as a secretary and Dickson Christian Supply. She was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church, where she had been the organist and a member of Miriam Circle. She was the 1953 Jennings County 4-H Achievement Queen and a 4-H'er for many years as a young woman.

The funeral was Monday at East Columbus United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Charles R. Aigner. Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.

Mrs. Walker was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Jennings County, the daughter of Ora A. and Maude Perry Tracy. She married Gerald Walker on June 10, 1956, in Hayden.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Renita Bettner of Columbus and Regina Tekulve of New Salisbury, Ind.; a son, Ron Walker of Columbus; two brothers, Lester Tracy and Luis Tracy, both of Seymour; and eight grandchildren, Aaron, Linda and Billy Bettner and Hannah and Renee Walker, all of Columbus, and Katie, T.J. and Cara Tekulve, all of New Salisbury.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Gail Hoffman on Oct. 14, 2006; and her parents.

Longtime Kenai resident Clifford Allyn Massie died Monday, July 23, 2007, from pancreatic cancer and a pulmonary embolism at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. He was 70.



Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Kenai Central High School gymnasium. Pastor Lee Moore will officiate. A gathering with refreshments will immediately follow the services in the auditorium commons. His ashes will be interred in the "Kardinal Corner" at the Kenai City Cemetery.



Mr. Massie was born July 20, 1937, to Robert and Ella (Belden) Massie in Sundance, Wyo. His family moved to Battle Ground, Wash., where he graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1955. He earned a bacholar of science degree in education at the Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore., and enlisted in the Washington National Guard. He began a lifelong career in teaching in Washington as an elementary teacher and coach from 1962 to 1967.



Mr. Massie moved to Kenai in August 1968 to teach for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. He taught drivers education, physical education, was the Kenai Central High School athletic and activities director as well as the KPBSD activities director and served two terms on the school board. He retired in 1987, but continued being a coach and a mentor to many. He received the Alaska School Activities Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007, and the community honored him by naming the KCHS gym floor "Cliff Massie Court." He also served one term on the Kenai City Council before resigning because of illness.



"Inside and out, Cliffy was an extraordinarily beautiful man. He loved his two daughters, his family, and friends. Losing Cliffy is devastatingly sad, but I was blessed to be his wife for 34 years, and it does not get any better than that. He loved coaching and working with young people, watching them learn life skills far beyond 'the' game," his wife, Lois, said.



Mr. Massie was preceded in death by his father.



He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lois L. Massie of Kenai; daughters, Lisa LaTourneau and her husband, Chal, of Vancouver, Wash. and Lori Massie and her husband, Manny Gomez, of Olympia, Wash.; mother, Ella Massie of Battle Ground; brothers, Jack Massie of Battle Ground and Wally Massie of Kalispell, Mont.; sisters, Grace Redinger of Spearfish, S.D., and Loretta Lindberg of Sheridan, Wyo.; brothers, Rod Massie of Davenport, Iowa and Randy Massie of Battle Ground; adopted daughter, Kyong Jun and her husband, Paul, and their children, Eugenie, Alenn and Ellie of Tacoma, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born on December 30, 1945, to Ray and Bertha (Harberger) Thorp in North Union Township, Pennsylvania. Rosemary enjoyed visiting Oak Openings, looking at the wildlife, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Char), James (Peaches), John (Rikki) and Peter (Sarah); eight grandchildren; four sisters; six brothers, and several other extended family members. AMHERST — William Clay Mace, 78 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 10, 1932 in Webster Springs, West Virginia where he was raised and lived until joining the United States Navy at age eighteen. Amherst has been his home for the last fifty-two years.

William served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. While in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Casa Grande. He worked at Fruehauf Co. in Avon Lake prior to it's closing in 1970 and then was employed at the former Wickes Lumber in Lorain for twenty-three years retiring in 1993. He also worked part time as a real estate agent for Robert Taylor Real Estate. He was a member of the Amherst American Legion Post #118. While in high school, he was a member of the 1949 Webster Springs State High School Championship team. His hobbies included watching all sports, hunting, fishing, working with wood, and handyman projects around his home for his family and friends.

Survivors include his sons Roger W. Mace of Amherst, Scott A. Mace and his wife Mary Anne of Amherst, and Brian K. Mace of Elyria; his daughter Kim Tokas and her husband Mark of Amherst; his grandchildren Chelsea Mace, Hillary Mace, Kaylie Mace, Kameron Tokas, Emily and Alex Mace; his sisters Betty Morton of Rockville, Maryland and Alta Vaughn of Whittier, California; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years Wilma Jean Mace (nee: Squires) on October 30, 2003; by his parents Henry Clay and Maude Mace (nee: Rose); by his brothers Kenneth, Willard, Elmer, and Virgil Mace; and by his sisters Rosemary Mace Phares Ralston, Ruth Marsh, and Pat Sheldon.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 6 years, Connie. His children: Linda & David Breitenstein of Fredericksburg, PA; Ferrell & Sally Clevenger of Hagerstown, MD; Brenda Hetterich of Finksburg, MD; Barbara & David Simmons of Littlestown, PA; Shirley & David Boteler of Westminster, MD; Onie & Katherine Clevenger of Keymar, MD; grandchildren: Theresa Meacham, Dale Cutlip, Steven Clevenger, Freddy Kunkel, Amy Clevenger, Tracie Clevenger, Dwayne Simmons, Brittany Tom, Bradley Simmons, Becky Boldyga, Deanna Colls, Jacob Clevenger, Jessica Clevenger, Sam Breitenstein, Eric Spetch and fourteen great-grandchildren. Stepchildren: Andy Moats, Samantha Moats, and Michelle Moats; step grandchildren: Ricky, Bradley, Ashton, Andrea, Megan, BreeAnna, and many other extended family and friends who will mourn his passing.

Ralph proudly served his country and was deployed to England before receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army. He and Geraldine were married on February 28, 1959 by Minister Hance McCoy in Webster Springs, WV. Ralph moved his young family from West Virginia to Baltimore City, MD and in 1967 settled in Finksburg, MD. Ralph was the recipient of multiple driving awards prior to retiring in May 1998 from his career as a commercial truck driver. He was a Christian and attended Bergoo Baptist Church in Bergoo, WV and Elk Valley Chapel in Webster Springs, WV. He was dedicated to reading and studying God's word daily. His grandchildren and great-grandchild were one of his greatest joys. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Beaver Run Fish and Game Club in Finksburg, MD where he served as President for two terms. He raised several full-blooded Bluetick Hounds and trained them to be skilled raccoon hunters. Ralph was a jovial man and loved telling stories about the past. He welcomed everyone to his home.

1076 Ralph E. Williams of Mary Esther, Fla. passed away Nov. 2, 2006. Born March 12, 1920, in Hughes, W.Va, to Clarence and Dosha Williams, he was the youngest of their three children.

He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in April of 1942 and proudly served his country during World War II by flying a total of 78 combat missions as a tail gunner, 43 of them in B-24s in the Pacific theatre and 35 of them in B-17s in the European theatre.

Ralph also served during the Korean conflict, the Greek Civil War and Vietnam. He retired in August of 1970 at the rank of master sergeant after 28 years of service and having been decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 11 Oak Leaf Clusters.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Alice; his sister, Hazel Coffman, his son and daughterin-law, John and Vickey; grandsons, Don Edwards, James Edwards and wife Samantha; and great-grandson, Ethan Edwards.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at the McLaughlin Mortuary in Fort Walton Beach. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Jeff Custer officiating.

Following services, interment will be in Beal Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. Floral tributes will be accepted at the funeral home.

She was born July 27, 1954 in Webster Springs to the late James Lawrence and Evelyn Stanley McCourt and was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping and line dancing and was an honorary member of the WSVFD Ladies Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandkids. She was dearly loved by her family. 1079 Ray was the son of Harold R. Markley, Sr. and Nelle Bice. He graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio, in 1979. Following graduation, he proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army for 13 years.

After the service he was employed at CSX Railroad for over 20 years where he served as a Foreman and Union Steward. He was also employed as an Iron Worker at Local 55 for over 10 years. Ray was an avid Harley Davidson Rider and he enjoyed riding alongside his brother, Mitch.

A resident of Oregon, Ray passed away at his home in Wildwood, Florida, surrounded by family and friends. He was survived by his wife, Rose Markley; father, Harold R. Markley, Sr.; "Mom," Sharon Markley; children, Alyssa Markley, Olivia Markley (Clint), Harold R. Markley, III (Alyssa); and Leah Spencer (Jake); eight grandchildren who lovingly called him "Grumpy Grampy;" lifelong friend and ex-wife, Vicki Markley; sister, Tina Markley Walsh (Trevor); mother, Nelle Bice; step-sister, Jennifer Lee (David); step-brother, Mike Bice; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell L. Markley, Sr.

1080 Raymond Carl "Ray" Fisher, 76, of Wardensville, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Fisher was born in 1932, in Webster Springs, WV, the son of the late David E. and Angeline Garvin Fisher. He was a sand mine process operator for Unimin, having retired in 1994. He attended Marvin Chapel Methodist Church.

Mr. Fisher married Norma Rinard, on May 26, 2001 in Wardensville. His first wife, Madaline Sharp Fisher, preceded him in death on August 11, 1992.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Shelba Hahn and her husband, Allen of Gore, Tina Anderson and her husband, Kevin of Stephens City; a son, Raymond Jerry Fisher, Sr. and his wife, Patricia Ann of Winchester; two step-daughters, Karen An-derson and her husband, Douglas and Annette Davis and her husband, Eddie, all of Wardensville; a step-son, Marty Rinard and his wife, Kristen Colebank, of Wardensville; eight grandchildren, Raymond Jerry Fisher, Jr., Jennifer Brannon, Angie Hahn, Nicole Hahn, Allen Hahn, III, Justin Anderson, Jada Anderson and Heather Fisher; two step-grandchildren, Rusty and Anthony, six great grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will be conducted at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Walt Mullins and Reverend Kathy Mullins officiating. Interment will be in Little Mountain Cemetery in Frederick County.

Ray spent 27 years in full-time Christian service in Thailand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Mae Thorne and Robert Lee Walters (Levi Minnich).

Service was Friday, February 8th at the Castleview Baptist Church, 8601 Hague Road in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A graveside service was Saturday, February 9th at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

1082 RBANA - Charles (Chuck) Burton, 80, passed away on November 27, 2021 at home. He was born on December 28, 1940 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Mitchell and Thelma (George) Burton, the oldest of 7. He attended Cable and Triad Schools.

He married Bonnie Wheeler on August 30, 1958 and they were married for 48 years before she passed away in 2007. He worked for Conley Construction in Marysville, Ohio for several years before he and Bonnie started driving coast to coast as a trucking team. He drove until his retirement in 2009!

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Bonnie, his in-laws, Walter and Alma Wheeler, and brother-in-law, Edward Wheeler. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Kenny) Hilliard, brothers, Curt (Pam) Burton, Larry (Dodie) Burton, Darrell (Linda) Burton, and Jimmie Burton, sisters, Kathy (Doug) Green and Sharon Burton (Steve McCarty), and several nieces, nephews, and granddogs.

He enjoyed going to and participating in antique tractor shows. Even though he drove a truck, he was a farmer at heart. He helped on his daughter and son-in-law's farm in many ways up until the end. He loved country music and his granddogs.

She was a homemaker and had resided in the Homerville and Burbank areas most of her life.

Surviving are her daughters, Elaine Bagley of Jefferson, Georgia and Lynn (Dan) Gurich of Burbank; son, Joe (Kathy) Triplett of Lodi; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1995; sisters, Pauline Fairchild and Freda Curry and brothers, Lee and Clarence Facemire.

She was born on May 4, 1935 in Malakoff, TX, the daughter of Jesus Maria Benavides and Florencia DeLuna. She was a graduate of Urbana High School, a member of First Baptist Church in Urbana and retired from Grimes Manufacturing where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Runkle and his wife Glenda of Urbana, daughter, Deborah Sue Runkle Bailey and her husband Charles "Butch" of West Liberty, brother Hiliaro of Florida, sister Juana of Urbana, four grandchildren, Lesley Nicole (Bailey) Neeld (Noel), Adam Chester Bailey, Evan Elizabeth Bailey and Jeremiah Emerson Runkle, and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Nichole Dillick and Gabriel Thomas Dillick.

1088 Rev. Gerald C. Hamrick, Sr., 87 of Webster Springs entered the Portals of Glory on Monday, September 6, 2021, at his home with those that loved him by his side. He was born November 15, 1933, in Bergoo to Patrick Murry and Maud Phillips Hamrick. He was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Gerald was an electrician in the coal mines, retiring after becoming disabled due to his many injuries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with his family, going to church, and reading the Word of God. Gerald entered the ministry, preaching his first message on January 14, 1963, using the text "Ye Must Be Born Again". He devoted his life to his family and to God, preaching in numerous churches, spreading the Gospel, and leading souls to Christ; "and there ain't a thing the devil can do about it!"

He is survived by his children Linda (Jackie) Cochran, Gerald (Cyndi) Hamrick, Mike (Karen) Hamrick, Jane Cutlip, and Bryan (Cindy) Swalley; grandchildren Lindsey (Justin) Skidmore, Alex (Rachelle) Cochran, Whitney Hamrick, Dane Hamrick, Scout Hamrick, Jacklin Mikel Hamrick, Isaac Cutlip, Hannah Cutlip, Allyson Swalley, Lydia Swalley, Ty Swalley, Jeremy Swalley and family, and T.J. 1089 Rev. John E. Utterback, 82, of Tipton, went home to be with his Lord at 5:45 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born November 15, 1933 in Payne, Ohio to Clyde and Mae (Outland) Utterback. He married Nila Jean Shaffer on September 5, 1953 in Payne, Ohio and she survives.

John was a Nazarene Pastor for 35 years, serving Tipton First Church of the Nazarene for 15 years. John also served his country in the US Army. He was member and past president of the Rotary Club in Tipton and member of the Masonic Lodge in Payne, Ohio. He served as the Indiana Northwest District Treasurer and Insurance Coordinator for the Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Nila Jean Utterback, Tipton; children, Jacqueline Evans (Eric Greene); Lewis Jay (Karen) Utterback and Amy Jo (Wade) Roberts. Seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17th at Tipton First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Stout officiating. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 18th at Wiltsie Cemetery in Payne, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene in Tipton.

D. was a farmer, he received his Ministerial License from Spirit Quest and was a member of Brick United Methodist Church. He is survived by his sister, Barbara T. Sandra served her country in the United States Army.

Sandra is survived by one son, John Christopher Firth of Williamsport, MD; one sister, Brenda Gray of Monroe, OH; one aunt, Imogene Marston of Gassaway, WV; brother-in-law, Stanley Firth of Mt. Clare; six grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel, Shayne, Harmony, Joshua and William.

He is survived by one daughter, Caroline Robinson, Oakland, MD, two sons, James Richard "Rick" Barton of Vienna, and Gregory R. Barton of Meadowwood Farms, Ellenboro and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Leva Jean Barton.

Mr. Barton graduated from Charleston High School, Charleston, WV, served in the United States Army (Air Force Division) in World War II and retired as a conservation officer (Sergeant) from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. He had a commercial and instrument pilot license and flew with the West Virginia wing of the Civil Air Patrol and served on the West Union Town Council. He was a member of the Friendship Lodge No. 58 A.F &amp; A.M. and had served on the Grand Lodge of West Virginia; Board of Director of the North Bend Rail for Trails, member of the Shiloh Trail Riding Club in Ritchie County and the Lake Trail Foundation.

1095 Richard A. "Richie" Wibley,51, of Columbus and formerly of Marysville, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.

Born November 6, 1964 in Marysville, he was the son of the late Richard and Wilma (Herriott) Wibley. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Russell Wibley.

Ritchie loved watching NASCAR, the Star Wars movies, doing laundry and cleaning. He truly enjoyed showing people how to clean the "right" way. He worked as an assembler with ARC Industries in Columbus.

Surviving are his half- brother and half- sisters, John King, Diane Simpson, Peggy Pennington and Becky (Todd) German; aunts, uncles and cousins.

1096 Richard A. “Dickie” Bolenbaugh, 62, of Marysville, died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at his residence
A 1974 graduate of Marysville High School, he retired from Picklesimer Trucking where he worked as a mechanic and truck driver for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Seabees with the United States Naval Reserves.
He was fun loving, quick witted and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed vacations to Gatlinburg, going to flea markets and demolition derbies, working on the farm with Tony and of course, his mornings spent at Mrs. Renison’s Donuts.
Born July 30, 1956 in Union County, he was the son of the late Richard A. “Ted” and Kathryn (Bendler) Bolenbaugh. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Bolenbaugh and a brother, Kevin Bolenbaugh.

He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Patty (Wibley) Bolenbaugh, whom he married June 25, 1977 in Marysville. Also surviving are his children, Angela (Tony) Randall of Urbana, Richard (Wendy) Bolenbaugh III of Marysville and Daniel (Angela) Bolenbaugh of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Courtney, Daniel, Kenny, Nikki, Alexis, Ryder, Tesla, Riley and Bryce; 2 great grandchildren and his sisters, Pam (Donald) Moore and Karla Rawlins both of Marysville.

Friends may call from 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Private graveside services will be held for the family at Oakdale Cemetery at a later date. Richard Weidenhaft, 76, of Oskaloosa passed away, Friday, April 12, 2019, at Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House surrounded by his girls after a brief battle with cancer.

Richard Dale Weidenhaft, son of Alfred Dale and Norma Mariece (Stripe) Weidenhaft, was born October 29, 1942, in Osceola, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm near Weldon, Iowa and was a 1961 graduate of Mormon Trail High School. After graduation he purchased a Mobile Station in Osceola; he later closed the station and went to work for Firestone in Des Moines. He married Barbara Bacon August 28, 1964, and they made their home in Osceola. Richard eventually was asked by Firestone to manage stores and then open new stores. This position took the family to Des Moines, Moline, Illinois, Fort Dodge and finally Oskaloosa. He retired from Firestone in 1987 and then began hauling grain and anhydrous ammonia. He retired from trucking in 2010. Richard enjoyed horses from an early age; he became involved in team roping competitions and eventually served as a rodeo judge. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and camping and traveling with his girls. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and an Iowa Hawkeye fan, and a member of the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Posse.

Richard’s family includes his wife of over 54 years, Barbara; his daughters: Jodie (Kavin) Kingery of Monroe IA, Becky (Kurt) Konek of Monroe IA, and Tracey (Dave) Swan of Lincoln NE; six grandchildren: Colt (Meghan) Kingery, Dalton Kingery, Hayley and Payton Konek, and Kate and Lauren Swan; two great-grandchildren: Ryker and Baylor Kingery. His is also survived by his sisters: Kay (Bob) Putz of Waddell AZ and Patsy Sheehan of Omaha NE; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bob Sheehan and his best friend, Daryl Vandegeest.

A memorial service for Richard will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Kurt Konek officiating. The family will greet visitors from 4-5 p.m. and after the service on Wednesday evening. Memorials can be made to the Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House.

1098 Richard Dutrow Miller, 85 of Frederick, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of the late Ruth Lorraine Cook Miller whom he married on July 11, 1953. Born on May 5, 1929 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Grayson Alonzo and Mary Margaret (Dutrow) Miller.



Mr. Miller graduated from Saint John's Catholic High School. Richard entered the National Guard, followed by the Active Reserves. He served two tours in Vietnam, earning a bronze and silver star and many other awards. He flew the secretary of the Army John O. Marsh, as a master aviator, for several years while stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA. Following his time in the service, he worked for Miller Distribution as a salesman. He was also employed by Coldwell Bank as a real estate agent. Richard was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks #684, the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post #11, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Frederick and the Loyal Order of Moose lodge #371 /chapter 347. He was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a man of character, as well as being a character of a man. He believed you are your word and your word is who you are. In his free time, he loved to read, help out around the condo and help his neighbors.



Richard was the father of Diana Lorraine Miller and partner Trina Davis of Frederick; grandfather of Amber Lorraine Hillman and husband Lance of Olympia, Washington and Garrett Austin Clintron of Frederick; and the great-grandfather of Dustin Hillman, Lukeus Hillman, and Connor Hillman; step-grandfather of Kathren Davis, Brandon Davis and Brieanna Robinson all of Frederick and Tyler Davis of Bear, Delaware; step great-grandfather of Shayne Davis, Alexander Davis and Cody Davis. He was also survived by his sister, Lenova A. McKenzie of Baltimore, sister-in-laws, Barbara A. Shankle and husband David and Gloria LaBrush and her late husband Alfred all of Frederick; brother-in-laws, Paul L. LaBrush and wife Dorothy of Boonsboro and Clyde L. LaBrush and wife Connie of Sabillasville; and numerous nieces and nephews.



In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Grayson Miller, Joseph Miller, Mary M. Hargis and Patricia A. Murphy and his brother-in-law, Alfred H. LaBrush.



The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2-4 &amp; 6-8 p.m. at the Keeney &amp; Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. Second Street, Frederick. 1099 Richard E. (Dick) Lovett, 83, longtime Midland resident, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at his home in Stanwood. He was born March 11, 1929, in Sidney, Ohio to Esther (Stephan) and Herbert Lovett. Richard received his bachelor's degree from Defiance College in 1951, where he was senior class president. He later received a National Science Foundation fellowship and completed his master's degree in mathematics from Bowling Green University.

Richard married Mary Langell in 1951. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage before Mary's death in 2006. Richard served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Williamsburg, Va. He began a distinguished career with the Midland Public Schools in 1955 as a math teacher at Midland High School where he also served as Dean of Boys. Richard gained the respect and friendship of students and staff alike. Later positions included coordinator of mathematics and principal of Mills Elementary School. Lovett retired in 1984 as Director of School Services.

Upon retirement, Richard and Mary built a home in Canadian Lakes where he was able to pursue his lifelong passion for fishing. Richard and Mary also enjoyed cross-country skiing and bike riding, and were active members of Big Rapids First United Methodist Church.

Richard's life was defined by responsibility and devotion to family, as a son, husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by three daughters, Susan (Rebecca) Schwaderer, Stephanie (Buzz) Walling, and Sarah (Kirk) Fisher; grandchildren, James Schwaderer, Elizabeth Walling Richter, Charles Walling, and Katie and Grace Kendall. His life with Mary was also enriched by numerous enduring friendships both in Midland and Canadian Lakes.

Richard and Mary shared the desire that upon their deaths a memorial service be held for immediate family. Memorial gifts may be sent to Defiance College, 701 N. Clinton St., Defiance, Ohio 43512.

1100 Richard E. Hilts, 72, of Old Oneida Road, Verona, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 24, 1939 in Munnsville, N.Y. a son of Irving and Edna Murfitt Hilts.
He attended VVS School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1962. On April 29, 1962 he married Mary Ann Rausch in Marysville, Ohio. Richard was employed by Ohio Water Company and Griffiss Air Base. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Verona and the American Legion.
Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gerry Austin, Verona and Jennifer and Lynn White, Sherrill; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Dean and Sherri Hilts; six grandchildren, Richard, Amber, David, Laura, William, and Jenna; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Durant and Mary Wilcox; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Diana Hilts and Eugene and Peg Hilts; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty McPherson and four brothers, Francis, Dicin, Ronald, and A. Bill Hilts.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Verona. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Prince-Boyd &amp; Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Rick's name.
