- Ruby Kathleen “Kathy” Hubbard Speakman, age 61, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was an associate of Walmart for over ten years. She was an avid Ohio State fan and always the “life of the party” and “center of attention.” She “never met a stranger.” She enjoyed playing cards, cornhole and watching OSU football games with her husband. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids and cherished having gatherings at her home. She was born December 16, 1956 in Delaware to the late Alvy and Mary Ward Hubbard, Sr. and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, McKenzie Carter; her mother and father-in-law, Cora and Roy Speakman; her nephew, Tony Helton; her niece, Angel Carvis; and a sister, Barb Bouchard. She is survived by her her husband of 44 years, Daniel L. Speakman, whom she married March 10, 1973 in Marysville; fours daughters, Kitty (Scott Alley) Speakman of Columbus, Christie (Barb) Speakman of Marysville, Danielle (Adam) Culwell and Nicole (Joe) Hall of Ashley; her grandchildren, Karma Schoby, Finny Slaven, Justin and Kisandra Tignor, Kyle, Alisha and Zachary Culwell, Jacob Lawrence, Austin, Jolie and Avery Hall; great-grandchildren, Kyla Fraker and Liam Culwell; her siblings, Bernice “Jo” (Bill) Wilson, Alvy (Cindy) Hubbard, Brenda (Denton) Helton and Tennyson “Tink” Hubbard; a sister-in-law, Vicki (Phil) Huey; a brother-in-law, Dale (Patti) Speakman; and many nieces and nephews, including her special nieces, Tami “Sis” (John) Michael, Chrystal Matthews and Melanie Walter; and a good friend, Clay Simpson. The family will receive friends 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Underwood Funeral home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Mike Roehrenbeck will officiate and interment will be held at Oakdale Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
