- Donald Ray Thayer, 61 of Craigsville, WV passed
away at his daughter’s home on Wednesday, March 2,
2016. Born October 27, 1954 at Sutton, he was a son of
the late Clarence Thayer and Delcie Perrine Byers. He was
also preceded in death by a niece, Kristi Thayer.
He attended the Beaver Freewill Baptist Church at
Craigsville, served with the National Guard for 8 years, was
very involved with Craigsville Little League and Softball and
was an employee of Arch Coal Leer Division in Grafton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving
wife, Norma Jean Callaghan Thayer; one daughter, Callie
Hughes and her husband, Jacob of Craigsville; one brother,
Dale Thayer and his wife Mona of Sutton; one nephew,
Jamie Thayer; also many close friends that have become
his family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday,
March 5, 2016 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville
with Pastors Mike Malcomb and Burnell Morris officiating.
Interment will follow at Craigsville Cemetery in Craigsville.
Friends may call at the White Funeral Home on Friday
from 7-9 PM
