  Notes	Decatur Daily Democrat, Adams Co, IN, Wednesday, December 3, 1941 DEATH CLAIMS ALICE ACKER - Mrs. Samuel Acker Dies This Morning After Long Illness Mrs. Alice R. Roop-Acker, 78, wife of Samuel Acker and well known Decatur lady, died this morning at 6 o'clock at her home, 1023 North Second street . Death followed an extended illness. She had been bedfast for the past two years. The deceased was born in Van Wert county, Ohio on November 21, 1863, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Frisinger-Roop. She was married to Mr. Acker October 16, 1884. She had been a resident of the city for the past 40 years and was a member of the First Methodist church here. Surviving, besides the husband, are two sons, Floyd and Russell, both of Decatur , and two brothers, Amos L. Roop of Fort Wayne and Albert W. Roop of Van Wert , Ohio . A son, Albert, two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist church, with Rev. R. W. Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. The body will be returned to the residence from the Zwick funeral home late Thursday and may be viewed there until time for the services.
