  Notes	AUBURN — Maxine F. Heffley, 92, of Auburn died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Laurels of DeKalb Nursing Home in Butler. Maxine was a homemaker and also worked alongside her husband, H. Ray Heffley, on the family farm. She was a former member of the Community Bible Church in Butler. Maxine was born July 4, 1921, in Butler to Glenn O. and Reva B. (Houtz) Houser. She married H. Ray Heffley on Sept. 4, 1937, in Albion, and he passed away May 15, 1998. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry D. and Clodine Heffley of Auburn, Dennis R. and Terra Heffley of Auburn, and David G. and Bethany Heffley of Corunna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha K. and Fred Ritter of Pleasant Lake, and Diane L. and Robert Ostheim of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Jack D. Houser; a grandson, Jeffrey Souder; and three great-grandsons, Jeffrey Souder, Jason Heffley and Justin O’Rouke A private family service was held Jan. 22 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo, with Dale Rabineau officiating. Burial took place in Waterloo Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Child Evangelism Fellowship in Auburn or the Salvation Army.
