[3] Notes - Wavalene Holsinger Adams died on January 6, 2020 just weeks after her 81st birthday. She was born on December 16, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, as the only child to Eugene and Ruth Holsinger. Her childhood and teenage years were spent in Covington and Rosewood, Ohio, surrounded by generations of family members.
She grew-up on a farm raising hogs, exhibiting them and her crafts in 4H and county fair. Cats were her love when she left the farm behind. She gifted her crafts of sewing, crocheting, and creating cards to her friends and family throughout her life. Any chance she got, she listened and participated in making music, including playing her accordion and singing for church, school, and social events.
Wavalene married Gayrald Adams on Christmas Day in 1959. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1966, and were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1974. They raised their family in Springfield, Ohio; Flint and Holly, Michigan; and Gilbert, Arizona, which has been her home for the past 38 years. In church, she served in the Primary and Relief Society organizations, as a librarian, and in the choir.
Gayrald passed away in 2004, and Wavalene was supported and sustained by neighbors, friends, and loving church members.
She is survived by her sons, Ed (Gwen) Adams of Springville, Utah; Dave (Melodi) Adams of Lindon, Utah; and Andy Adams of Gilbert, Arizona, who has been her primary caregiver for 15 years; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.--Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery
