She was born July 31, 1922 in Webster County, the daughter of John and Lucy Payne Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Christian; son Aaron Christian; and nine siblings. She is survived by her son Ardie Lee Carpenter of Cowen, Ronald (wife Mary) Christian of Camden on Gauley, Michael (wife Sarah) Christian of Craigsville; grandchildren Tammy (John) Hammond, Ronda (Gary) McCourt, Aaron (Lisa) Brown, Stephanie Brown, Misty Brown, and Michael (Ashley) Christian; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Interment in Union Cemetery, Parcoal.
