Larry J. "Joe" Markle, 55, of Barton Lane, Webster Springs, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 16, 1950, in Buckhannon, he was a son of Kathleen Cogar Markle of Webster Springs and the late Stanton J. Markle. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alva and Iva Cogar; his paternal grandparents, John and Olive Markle; and a special friend, Becky Markle.
He loved his bicycles, Reese's Cups, tea and making new friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, Tom (Judy) Dillon of Craigsville, Danny (Joyce) Markle of Point Mountain, Shannon Markle of Gassaway and John (Lynette) Markle of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; sister, Debbie Barnette of Upperglade; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with the Rev. Sam Nichols and Brandon Moll officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Webster Springs.
