  Notes	Ivan Lowell (Red) Frederick, 89 of Mt. Lake Park, MD left this earth to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 29, 1927 in Gladesville, WV. He was the son of the late Leslie A. Frederick and Bessie W (Brown) Frederick. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Gladesville, WV. He served in the Army Air Force from 1945 to 1946 as a radio operator. He retired in 1994 from the D&L Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator. Red was a charter member of the Mt. Storm Lions club and was a member of the VFW Post10077 in Deer Park, MD, and the Oakland American Legion Post 71. Red was an avid stock car driver/owner. Dirt track racing was his passion. He was 25 years old when he first started racing in 1952. He had many feature wins and championships during his racing career. Red attended as many local races as possible and traveled often to the NASCAR races. Martinsville, VA was a favorite of his. He was inducted into the Wall of Legends at Elkins …
