He was born on June 19, 1927, to Charles and Laura Leftwich Hancock of Rand. In addition to his wife, James is survived by three sons, James (Kay) and Hubert of Cross Lanes, WV, and Gary (Rosalinda) of Carrollton Texas, seven grandchildren, Kimberly(Jeffrey) Campbell, Brian(Nancy) , Matthew(Kimberly), James, Seth, Gregory, and Nathaniel, and four great-grandchildren, Katie, Kayce, Jeffrey, and Maddox. He is preceded in death by his mother and father ,his six brothers Joe, Bill, Sam, Calvin, Lloyd "Haig", and Roy, his three sisters, Vazzie Rucker, Barbara "Sis" Hicks, and Cecilia Mitchell, and his infant granddaughter, Gabriella.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 20, at Twin City Bible Church, 100 1st Ave, Nitro, WV, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral will be on Friday, January 21, at the church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Scott Bandy, Bill Egerdahl, and Brandon Hudson presiding. Burial will follow the service in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Rd. Cross Lanes, WV 25313
In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Twin City Bible Church or Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd West, Charleston WV 25312.
He will be missed by all, but he is walking with Jesus now!
