[1, 3] Notes - Carol Jean “Jeanie” Hayhurst Richardson May, 69, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at the Genesis Fairmont Campus Pierpont Center. She was born in Baisden, WV on September 2, 1945, the daughter of the late Donald Hayhurst and Effie Caroll Hayhurst.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Richardson, as well as her second husband, Joe Wesley May.
Jeanie was a retired Social Worker for D.H.H.R. in Charleston. She was a member of the Moose Club in Gassaway and in Charleston, enjoyed dancing and gardening, and loved traveling to Nags Head and to the Outer Banks.
Mrs. May is survived two daughters, Kelly Dawn Dean and her husband Shawn of Gassaway, WV and Jo Leigh Hines of Fairmont; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Scott Richardson and her brother, Jerry Don Hayhurst.
The family requests memorial contribution be made in Jeanie's memory to the H.D.S.A. (Huntington's disease), 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, New York 10018.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Monday, February 23, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chris Cosner officiating. A private committal will be held at a later date.
