He was retired from Greene Construction Co., Sutton. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Stone Run Methodist Church. Surviving: wife, Nelvia Gregory Squires; daughter, Linda R. Butcher of Sutton; sons, Timothy I. Squires of Exchange, Richard A. Squires of Greensboro, Pa.; sisters, Freda Lake of Pittsburgh, Opal Snyder of Accident, Md., Lena Shearer of Delmont, Fla.; brothers, Paul of Gassaway, William of Apollo, Va., Hubert of Vandergrift, Pa.; three grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home, Flatwoods, with the Rev. Vaughn James and the Rev. William E. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in High Knob Cemetery.
