- Charles "Chuck" A. Sherald Jr.Charles "Chuck" A. Sherald Jr., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at the Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy after his eight year battle with cancer.Chuck was born in Frederick, Oct. 15, 1949. He was the son of the late Charles A. Sherald Sr. and Betty and Eugene Lawson Sr. of Hagerstown.Chuck grew up in Frederick and graduated from St. John's Literary Institute in 1967. He continued his education with an AA from Frederick Community College in 1970 and a BA from Hood College in 1987. Chuck began his work career at Weis Market and then went on to sell insurance for People's Life. Then he worked in accounting positions for Rudy Transportation and Bank of America. He also sold real estate for Long and Foster in Pikesville. Most recently Chuck was an accountant for Frederick County Government, Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management. He enjoyed working with people and made friends everywhere he went.Chuck enjoyed family vacations to Dewey Beach, Del. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings and made many trips to Minnesota. He also volunteered at the Frederick County Humane Society.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Wilkins and husband, Michael, of Frederick, and Jessica Robinson and husband, Shane, of Baltimore; his brother, Bob Sherald and wife, Terry, of Waynesboro, Pa.; his step- brother, Eugene Lawson Jr. of Virgina; stepsisters, Juanita Feaster of N.C., and Debbie Smelser and husband, Mark, of Frederick; his niece, Stefanie Breneman of Waynesboro, Pa., and his nephews, Tim Sherald of Waynesboro, Pa., Matt Rice of Frederick; and stepnephew, Mark Smelser Jr. of Frederick. He will also be remembered by Marge Sherald of Frederick and Mary Rice of Frederick.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, officiated by Pastor Mark A. Hosler. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery where serving as pallbearers will be Bob Sherald, Tim Sherald, Michael Wilkins, Shane Robinson, Mary Rice and Matt Rice.Memorial contributions may be made to the Kline Hospice House, 7000 Kimmel Road, Mt.
