sidney — Ida "Louise" Ferryman, 88, of Sidney, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at her residence.
She was born on March 17, 1929, in Champaign County, Ohio, the only child of the late Glendon and Margaret (Kress) Barger.
In 1947, she married A.C. Runkle Jr. They were blessed with two children, Mark Randall Runkle, and Victoria L. (Bob) Berger, both of Sidney. In 1964 she married Robert G. Ferryman. They were blessed with one daughter, Virginia Beth (Dan) Gleason, of Sidney.
Louise is survived by her three children; five grandchildren, Chris (Leslie) Berger, of Anna, Kelly (Brad) Davis, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Kevin (Amy) Berger, of Sidney, and Matt and Shawn Gleason, of Colorado; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Judy Runkle, and special friend, Dudley Lee.
Louise was a graduate of Harrison-Adams High School in Rosewood and Fredricks Beauty Academy in Springfield. She worked as a beautician for several years. She later worked for Copeland for 21 years. After retirement from Copeland, she worked in home health.
Louise was a member of All American City Sweet Adelines and The High Low Quartet. She was independent, loved life and was most proud of her children and grandchildren, who all loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Pastor Andy Leighty officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in St. Paris.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rosewood United Methodist Church or Wilson Hospice Care in Louise's memory.
