Her parents, (Henry) Otto and Marie (Frederick) Nuessgen, had emigrated in 1906 from Bremen, Germany to Galveston, Texas. At age 10, her family left Texas to reside in Davidson, Saskatchewan, Canada. Louise told stories of riding a horse three miles every day from their farm to a one-room schoolhouse in the snow! She enjoyed taking care of the farm animals, the barn dances, and reporting the latest social news for the local paper there. Her family moved from Canada to Dayton, Ohio around 1940, where she attended cosmetology school. During WWII, she met and began corresponding with a soldier named Charles Jackson. They fell in love and married in 1948, and soon moved to Troy for Charles to work at Hobart Manufacturing. Jackson (1980), her beloved brothers Arthur Nuessgen (1994)(wife Elsie) and Fritz Nuessgen (1999)(wife Virginia) both of Dayton, and her parents.Louise was lovingly devoted to her family, friends, and pets. She enjoyed dancing, working, homemaking, gardening, needlework, reading, and bargain shopping. She never forgot a birthday, and wrote extensive letters to correspond with loved ones throughout her life. Part of the legacy to her daughter is the bundle of treasured love letters from her husband during WWII. Louise was generous to multitudes of charities.
