Judy Mae (Watson) Dmytryk entered the kingdom of her Prince of Peace Jan. 31, 2012, after a battle with lupus disease. her smile and kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
Judy was born Feb. 6, 1939, to Jack S. and Irene (Rhea) Watson in Portland. She joined the family which included her older brother and hero, Jack Watson.
She lived her entire childhood in Estacada, Ore., graduating from Estacada High School in 1957.
Immediately after graduation, she married the love of her life, Stanley G. Dmytryk, on May 31, 1957, in Estacada.
Together, they raised three boys and pursued their careers. In 1967, Judy's family moved to Madras, where her husband became the principal of Madras High School for 20 years.
Judy was an assistant for Dr. Robert "Bud" Gauthier for five years, then became a secretary at Madras Elementary for nearly 20 years.
When she and her husband both retired, they traveled coast to coast in their motorhome, enjoying every day, every experience. Judy greatly enjoyed her grandchildren.
In 1993, Judy and her husband, with dear friends Jerry and Dorothy Hrabal, and son and daughter-in-law Stann and Tracee Dmytryk, formed HDD Inc. to own and operate Oregon Beef Co. Until her passing, Judy was a mentor and positive influence in the day-to-day operations of Oregon Beef Co.
She was a member of Alpha Omicron Sorority, the Red Hat Society, and was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Madras, volunteering her services wherever she could.
She greatly enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, rafting, and was an excellent marksman.
Over the last decade, Judy travelled the world with her close friends, enjoying Cabo San Lucas, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and many visits to Hawaii.
Survivors include her sons, Stann and his wife Tracee Dmytryk of Madras, and Glenn and his wife Linda Dmytryk of Bend; granddaughter, Kaylee Lynne Dmytryk of Portland; grandson, Cameron Tyler Dmytryk of Hollywood, Calif., Ryan Olson of Eugene, and Joel Kotila of Bend; and great-grandson, Dylan Malone of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded to heaven by her parents, Jack and Irene Watson; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Watson; son, Lynn Dean Dmytryk; and grandson, David Lynn Dmytryk.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Madras United Methodist Church. The burial service will follow at the Mount Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately after, at the United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home of Madras.
