  Notes	Donald Ray Gross, age 54, of Marlinton, died at his home on Sunday, June 29, 2003, after a long illness with cancer caused by Agent Orange exposure in his military duty. He was retired from the United States Army; his service included two tours in Viet Nam and two tours in Germany. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans, a life member of Viet Nam Veterans of America, member of American Legion Post 50, Veterans of Foreign Wars, A.A.R.P., Senior Friends, and Pocahontas Humane Society. He attended Cummings Creek Victory Chapel. A native of Knox County, Kentucky, he was born December 10, 1948, the son of Etta Mae Longworth Gross and the late Bill Gross. On November 19, 1983, he was married to Harriet Faye Waugh in the Marlinton United Methodist Church. His father and a brother, Arnold Gross, preceded him in death. Mr. Gross is survived by his wife, Harriet Waugh Gross; his mother, Etta Mae Longworth Gross, of Florence, Kentucky; a son, Michael Shawn Gross, of Hartsville, South Carolina; two sisters, Ruth Anne Bailey, of Bridgeport, Alabama, and Cecila Denise Walls, of Florence, Kentucky; three brothers, Otis Gross, of Independence, Kentucky, Ronnie Gross and William Gross, both of Bridgeport, Alabama; and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Van-Reenen Funeral Home by Rev. Norman Lee Alderman. Burial with military rites will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
