  Notes	Violet Mae Straw, age 81, of Kinderhook Township, Montgomery, Michigan, passed away at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility, Thursday, August 28, 2014. Violet was born on February 27, 1933, in Bath Township, Greene County, Ohio. She married Jay J. "Bud" Straw on April 4, 1953, in Angola, Indiana. Violet graduated from Coldwater High School in 1951. She was a nurses' aide for the Coldwater State Home for 18 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and spending time at her cottage in northern Michigan. Survivors include five daughters, Kathy (Bob) Miner of Montgomery, Michigan, Carolyn (Jeff) Hensley of Montgomery, Alabama, Sharon Frasier of Angola, Indiana, Velvet (Gerry) Lerch of Kent City, Michigan, and Shirley Sensat of Kinderhook Township, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Pope of Coldwater, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay " Bud" Straw; four brothers; and a grandson, Wesley. Burial will be at Knauss Cemetery, Kinderhook Township, Branch County, Michigan
