  Notes	Clayburn Lee “Buddy” McFarland, Sr., 82, died on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Hilda Virginia “Kathy” McFarland, 80, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at their home in Winchester, VA. Buddy was born on February 4, 1939, in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Charles I. and Della P. Boyce McFarland. Kathy was born on June 28, 1941 in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Cecil and Mae E. Crites Kirby. Buddy worked 16 years for O’Connell Heating & AC and then 18 years for Valley Protein Company both in Winchester. He enjoyed hunting (especially coon hunting), fishing, gardening, playing the guitar, watching the Washington Wizards and Baltimore Orioles. Kathy was a former dietary aide at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Winchester, VA for 33 years. She enjoyed making candy, crocheting, canning, gardening and being with family & friends. Buddy and Kathy were married on December 2, 1960, in Winchester, VA. Surviving are their three sons: Clayburn L. McFarland, Jr. of Winchester, VA; Greg W. McFarland (Lynell) of Clearbrook, VA; Robert Andrew “Andy” McFarland (Tabetha) of Front Royal, VA; two daughters: Karen V. Jewell (Gene); Della M. Owens (Scott) all of Winchester, VA; Kathy’s sister: Shirley A. Hazelwood of Morgantown, WV; four grandchildren & three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery near Winchester, VA at 1 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Glen Welsh. The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 12:30 PM at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV.
