He was born October 7, 1932 in Galesburg, Michigan. He was united in marriage to the late Wanda Mae Chilson Councell. He was a licensed electrician and was the electrical inspector for the City of Coldwater and well as serving as Captain of the Coldwater Fire Department. Mr. Councell was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Air Force. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by:
Children: Steve Councell and wife Sandra of Edwardsburg, Michigan Ron Councell of Coldwater, Michigan Roberta Restaino and Vito Raymond Councell Jeff Councell of Freemont, Indiana Mike Councell of Kalamazoo, Michigan Sisters: Ruth Black and Stan of Kalamazoo, Michigan Helen Thieffen

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Chilson Councell, his mother, Idabell Cleaver and his father, Charles Councell, a sister, Dorothy Cavender, two brothers, Rick Councell and Wesley Councell, and his step-mother, Gladys Councell.
Graveside services will be Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother Gary Harrison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening, March 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
